Labradoodles in America
Owning a pet has surged in popularity in the U.S. in recent years. In the 1970s, only about 67 million households had pets. In 2012, there were 164 million pets in the U.S. Assuming one to two pets per household, this could be as many as 82 to 164 million households with pets! In this year, approximately 62% of households included at least one pet. This could be because 60% of Americans think that pet owners lead more satisfying lives than non-pet owners.
Cat or Dog?
As choices in pets go, about 70% of Americans would describe themselves as a “dog person.” This is compared to only 20% considering themselves a “cat person.” When that 70% is looking for a dog, 28% will purchase from a breeder.
There are many popular breeds, some of the more popular being Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and a favorite of many being the Labradoodle. A Labradoodle is a mix of a Labrador Retriever and any of a Standard, Miniature, or Toy Poodle. These varieties result in miniature labradoodles, medium labradoodles, or standard labradoodles. The standard Labradoodle ranges from about 22 inches in height for a female to 23 inches in height for a male, and both range in weight from approximately 50 to 65 pounds. Standard Labradoodle puppies, medium Labradoodle puppies, and miniature Labradoodles puppies can all be found at reputable breeders. Most Labradoodles would do best in a fenced yard, as they require about 30 to 60 minutes of exercise per day.
Types of Labradoodle
Although there are different varieties, the Australian Labradoodle is common and can also contain other breeds such as American Cocker Spaniel and Irish Water Spaniels. Specialized Australian Labradoodle breeders can be found for this type of Labradoodle. Along with a variety of genetic background and size, Labradoodles can also be found with different coat colors. Breeders often sell chocolate Labradoodle puppies, black Labradoodle puppies, and cream Labradoodle puppies. Available at many breeders, one can find medium Labradoodle puppies for sale, miniature Labradoodle puppies for sale, and standard Labradoodle puppies for sale in Georgia, Oregon, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and the Carolinas, along with many other states. If you now have your heart set on owning one or two black labradoodle puppies, it shouldn’t be too hard to find one.
